Half Staff – Dorothy M. Geehan

Rockport, MA — Dorothy M. Geehan, 85, wife of the late Major General Richard J. Geehan Jr., of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2014, at the Den Mar Health and Rehabilitation in Rockport. Dorothy and Richard shared 63 years of marriage.She was born in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada, on February 11, 1929, daughter of the late Lawrence and Edwidge (LeBlanc) Couturier.

Dorothy was a graduate of Saugus High School, Class of 1948. She was employed for many years as a Real Estate Agent for Hollett Real Estate in Saugus.

She enjoyed dancing and bunker (Japanese needlepoint). She also loved to travel which included trips to Europe, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Australia and New Zealand. Dorothy loved living life to the fullest and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula J. Geehan of Rockport; three sons, Stephen Geehan and his wife, Linda of Billerica, Mark Geehan and his wife, Janis of Kingston, N.H., and John Geehan of Wilmington, Del.; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Couturier of Byfield, and Albert Couturier of Sarasota, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Irene and brothers, Leo, Raymond and Joe.

ARRANGEMENTS: In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services and the burial will be private.
