Before you make your final decisions about the Nationals, take a minute to truly picture Rockport in August.
Downtown RockportAre you seeing a quaint little village that sits picturesquely upon a craggy outcropping of rock? And the quintessential white church on the green, do you see that, too? How about peek-a-boo views of the water everywhere you walk in town? Between the buildings, and through the gate with the hole in the door?
Do you like art galleries, antique shops, and small artisan shops? Little restaurants that serve wonderful seafood and have breathtaking views of the water. How about spending an afternoon whale watching?
And did we mention that all this is within walking distance of Sandy Bay Yacht Club, where the racing will be happening. So plan to come and stay a while!
Now that we’ve got your attention, let’s talk about the particulars of the regatta:
Hate to Sail Long Distances to the Race Course – in Sandy Bay it takes 10 minutes or less to get to the line. Check out this chart to see how close Sandy Bay is to the Rockport harbor. All races are held inside the breakwater.
